Process Engineering Technician

Process Engineering Technician – Associate II – Semiconductor Product Validation

UST is searching for a Process Engineering Technician who will operate reactors to perform thin film processes and evaluate performance of process systems; recommend troubleshooting procedures to engineering.

• Prepare wafers for experimentation, including cleaning and preparation of reactors.
• Prepare cross‑section samples for scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis; optimize sample prep procedure and conditions and identify cut location based on pattern instructions.
• Record process conditions and experimental observations; evaluate wafers and thin films to include optimization of process recipes. Prepare graphs and tables summarizing results and analyzing data.
• Operate SEM for cross‑section and top‑view, critical dimension (CD), or energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis and imaging.
• Identify all patterns of interest in imaging and understand image quality requirements and sample/beam interaction to determine optimized condition.
• Understand basic SEM principles.
• Responsible for all technology products.

• Technical Diploma.
• 4–6 years of experience.
• Physical requirements:
  
  extensive walking, standing, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, working at height, lifting up to 35 lbs, ability to distinguish colors, working with electricity, noise tolerance, use of hand and power tools; clean‑room work requires appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Salary range: $56,000–$84,000.

Full‑time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, 6 days of paid sick leave per year (prorated for new hires), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. Employees may participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. Eligible for medical, dental, vision insurance, and company‑paid life insurance, accidental death and disability, short‑ and long‑term disability, HSA, FSA.

Part‑time employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave per year and may participate in the 401(k) plan. All U.S. employees work per state or local paid sick leave laws.
