Job Summary
As a Systems Engineer at Applied Materials, you will design, integrate, and optimize complex systems that drive the semiconductor industry forward. Your expertise in systems thinking and problem‑solving will be essential as you collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop advanced solutions for intricate processes and to write system specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Define requirements for wet processing tools: cleaning, wet etch, and surface preparation.
- Translate process needs into equipment specifications.
- Conduct vendor benchmarking and selection.
- Evaluate tool performance, footprint, throughput, and facility constraints.
- Collaborate with process, facilities, and integration teams.
- Identify gaps between process requirements and available solutions.
- Analyze requirements, define system architectures, conduct thorough testing, and ensure seamless integration of subsystems.
- Identify and mitigate risks, confirming systems meet the highest quality standards and exceed customer expectations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Systems Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in semiconductor processing equipment.
- Strong knowledge of wet processing systems and chemical handling.
- Experience with tool selection and vendor engagement.
- New college graduates will NOT be considered.
- Advanced packaging or wafer‑level substrate processing.
- Familiarity with fab integration considerations (UPH, automation, factory layout).
