Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining the engineering drawings that define Oklo's first-of-a-kind (FOAK) nuclear fuel recycling facility
- Creation and maintenance of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), piping layouts, equipment arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, and other engineering documentation
- Working closely with process, mechanical, electrical, controls, and systems engineers to translate engineering concepts into accurate, controlled engineering drawings
- Developing, revising, and maintaining Piping/Process/Ventilation & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant3D or equivalent CAD software
- Producing piping layout drawings, equipment arrangement drawings, piping and equipment isometrics, and general arrangement drawings for process facilities
- Coordinating closely with process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & controls, structural, and nuclear engineers to ensure drawing consistency across disciplines
- Incorporating engineering changes into controlled drawing packages while maintaining revision history and configuration management
- Assisting with development of drawing standards, CAD libraries, drafting procedures, and document templates
- Performing drawing quality checks to identify inconsistencies, clashes, missing information, and opportunities for design improvement
- Generating engineering documentation including bills of materials, equipment lists, line lists, and drawing packages supporting procurement and construction
- Interface with fabricators, vendors, and construction teams to clarify drawings and incorporate field feedback into design revisions
- Help establish efficient drafting workflows that support rapid design iteration
- Associate’s degree, technical certification, or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- 5+ years of experience producing engineering drawings for industrial facilities or process equipment
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software
- Experience developing and maintaining Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Experience producing piping layouts, equipment arrangement drawings, and construction drawing packages
- Understanding of industrial piping systems, valves, instrumentation, and process equipment
- Familiarity with engineering drawing standards, revision control, and document management practices
- Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams
Demonstrates expertise in developing and maintaining engineering drawings, particularly Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), using AutoCAD or equivalent software. Collaborates effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure drawing accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
