Mechanical Engineer, Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer
Work on projects that enable the heart of research and development, testing, and manufacturing operations in Santa Clara, CA.
You'll collaborate closely with client stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents for the installation of complex manufacturing tools, tenant improvements, and core facility infrastructure upgrades.
This is a contract role with intent to hire.
Pay: $40.87- $57.69 per hour DOE
Responsibilities- Design and layout wet and dry piping, equipment layout, HVAC, exhaust, fire suppression, process chemical piping and gases for extensive tools in complex, densely packed industrial facilities
- Provide technical engineering design and oversight for piping for equipment water, wastewater, process chemicals, and gases
- Support retrofit of existing building systems to accommodate tool installation, including engineering calculations, equipment/component sizing, selection, and specification
- Provide support during construction and integration into the factory
- Work as the Process Mechanical/Chemical representative on a multi-discipline design team alongside other design staff, client equipment owners, stakeholders, and equipment manufacturers
- Build utility requirement documents to support development of installation design packages
- Interact directly with clients and contractors throughout the design process
- Assist with RFI and submittal services on-site during the construction phase
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- 3 years of practical experience in mechanical facilities engineering (HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related systems)
- Engineer in Training (EIT), actively pursuing PE license
- Must be an on-site position in Santa Clara, CA, Monday-Friday during normal business hours (nominally 8:00 am-5:00 pm, with some flexibility)
- Ability to walk long distances, sit/stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, and lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
- Must pass background check and drug screen; must be fully authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
- 2 years of experience working with complex semiconductor manufacturing tools (manufacture, installation, or use in clean rooms)
- Proficient with AutoCAD and Navisworks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Forward-thinking with a drive to learn best practices and contribute innovative ideas
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and broaden knowledge base
- Ability to collaborate effectively in multi-discipline design teams
- Passion for buildings and construction
- 1 year of field experience in an industrial facility
