About Si Time
SiTime is the Precision Timing company.
Timing is the heartbeat of all electronics, ensuring performance, resilience and scalability. For decades, quartz devices, non-silicon technology, have kept systems in sync, but they struggle in harsher, more demanding environments. MEMS-based Precision Timing delivers greater accuracy, smaller size and resilience. Today, MEMS timing powers over 400 applications, including high-growth ones in AI datacenters, automated driving, industrial and humanoid robots, wearables and IoT.
Our semiconductor MEMS programmable solutions offer a rich feature set that enables customers to differentiate their products with higher performance, smaller size, lower power, and better reliability. With more than 4 billion devices shipped, SiTime is changing the timing industry. For more information, visit: .
Job Summary

This role is ideal for a hands-on technical expert who enjoys deep-dive analysis, advanced FA tools, and cross-functional problem solving. You will play a key role in identifying failure mechanisms, driving root cause analysis, and helping improve product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction for advanced semiconductor products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical and physical failure analysis investigations from initial fault isolation through root cause conclusion.
- Analyze failures from customer returns, qualification, reliability testing, and new product development to identify failure mechanisms and drive corrective actions.
- Collaborate with design, product, test, system, reliability, and customer engineering teams to improve design robustness, test coverage, and manufacturing quality.
- Prepare clear FA summaries, technical reports, and leadership updates that support timely decision-making.
- Strengthen FA best practices, share lessons learned, and help improve overall analysis efficiency and reporting consistency.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor IC failure analysis.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device structures, processes, and common failure mechanisms; MEMS experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience with fault isolation, functional verification, and root cause failure analysis.
- Hands-on experience with advanced FA tools and techniques, including micro-probing, SEM/EDX, silicon device deprocessing, FIB, and mechanical cross-sectioning.
- Knowledge of 2D/3D X-ray inspection, EMMI/OBIRCH, thermal imaging, decapsulation, and semiconductor reliability testing.
- Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to engineering teams, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage priorities, drive investigations, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
