We are hiring a results-driven and dedicated Region Controller to help support and manage our organization’s financial performance and direct our accounting operations. This position is based in the West Region.
The Region Controller will manage the day-to-day accounting functions and will be responsible for managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring the accuracy of financial information.
Your strategic planning and exceptional numerical proficiency as a Region Controller will aid our organization in maintaining positive revenue and financial growth, formulating sound financial strategies, exceeding regional targets, and developing financial plans that support operational strategies.
Your ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a flair for numbers, be highly organized, and have excellent leadership skills. The noteworthy Region Controller should streamline our accounting functions and operations, provide financial analysis and reports, train managers on business finance issues, promote regulatory compliance, and drive income generation.
Location: based in Los Angeles, CA or Santa Clara, CA.
Pay Rate: $120,000 – $140,000 annual salary, up to 20% annual bonus
Key Responsibilities- Lead in month-end close and preparation of various financial statements
- Prepare journal entries, approve JE posted by staff accountants, and monitor other key balance sheet account reconciliations
- Analyze income statement and balance sheet accounts to explain variances
- Ensure accuracy of job costing: maintenance of the job numbers database, correct cost allocation per job number
- Ensure proper mapping of income statement accounts in accordance with the corporate ledger
- Review and validate intercompany allocations and invoicing
- Support accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable as needed
- Support internal and external financial statement audits, sales and use tax audits, union audits, and other compliance measures as necessary
- Liaise with operations, HR, IT, and key stakeholders to explain actual results and provide ad-hoc reporting as needed
- Participate in initiatives to streamline current processes as assigned
- Previous experience in the Security/ Labor/ Staffing Industry is preferred but not required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities within rigid deadlines
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (e.g. pivot tables, vLookup formulas, if/then formulas)
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and ability to complete accounting tasks independently
- Software savvy and able to learn quickly;
Winteam knowledge is preferred but not required
Must be detailed oriented, professional, and reliable to work independently - Candidate must be self-motivated and have a strong work ethic
- Must be flexible to work scheduled and/or non-scheduled hours as required to meet corporate deadlines
