Core Responsibilities
  • US International Tax & Reporting (Strategic Oversight)
  • US Outbound Review:
    Partner with the US international tax compliance team to provide technical oversight and review of US tax attributes, including Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, and FTC calculations.
  • Compliance Management:
    Act as the lead for the international compliance lifecycle; review Forms 5471, 8858, and 1118 prepared by the compliance team to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Provision Coordination:
    Manage the US international tax portion during the quarterly provision process, ensuring a seamless ASC 740 quarterly workflow.
  • Foreign Tax Credit (FTC) Optimization:
    Collaborate with other team members to analyze and substantiate foreign tax credits, ensuring proper documentation is maintained for US reporting.
  • Global Strategy & Strategic Projects
  • Expansion & M&A:
    Lead tax work streams for LATAM market entries, entity rationalization, and post‑acquisition integration.
  • Quantitative Modeling:
    Build and maintain US international tax models and quantitative analyses to support M&A, structuring, and cash repatriation scenarios.
  • Intercompany & Cross‑Border Efficiency:
    Advise on intercompany transactions, ensuring US tax compliance and operational efficiency in cross‑border charges.
  • M&A & Restructuring:
    Conduct research and technical analysis on complex transactional issues, including Section 367, entity characterization, and post‑acquisition integrations
  • Cross‑Functional Partnership:
    Collaborate with Treasury, Legal, and Finance on cash repatriation strategies and intercompany financing.
  • LATAM Tax Oversight (Consolidated)
  • Regional Lead:
    Act as the primary Point of Contact for LATAM income tax matters.
  • Controversy & Audit:
    Manage local tax examinations and inquiries, developing defense strategies to mitigate regional tax risks.
  • Operational Excellence:
    Monitor local tax law developments (indirect and direct) and advise on the impact.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Law. US CPA or JD/LLM strongly preferred.
  • Experience:

    7-10 years of progressive international tax experience (Big 4 and Tech industry).
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Solid understanding of US International Tax principles (outbound focus).
    • Advanced Quantitative

      Skills:

      High proficiency in Excel modeling and analyzing large datasets to support tax planning scenarios.
    • Technical Research:
      Proven ability to leverage online research tools (e.g., Bloomberg Tax/BNA, CCH) to translate complex new tax statutes, regulations, and court rulings into clear, actionable insights.
    • Functional knowledge of Brazilian, Mexican, and other major LATAM tax systems is a plus.
    • Experience with SAP (or similar ERP) and tax provision software is a plus.
    • Soft Skills:

      A "self‑starter" mentality with the ability to translate complex foreign tax concepts into actionable insights for US‑based leadership.
