Position: Finance Project Manager (Consulting)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Finance Project Manager to join a leading global technology organization delivering innovative software and cloud-based solutions. This consultant will lead a high-impact, cross‑functional compliance initiative supporting the implementation of new California tax legislation affecting digitally delivered software and SaaS offerings. The ideal candidate is an experienced enterprise Project Manager with a proven ability to drive execution, governance, stakeholder alignment, and successful delivery across complex organizations.

Hybrid position: working on‑site three (3) days per week in Santa Clara, California.

Essential Duties
  • Lead enterprise‑wide implementation of a major regulatory compliance initiative.
  • Develop and manage project plans, milestones, timelines, budgets, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams across Finance, Tax, IT, Product, Legal, and Operations.
  • Facilitate executive steering committee meetings and provide project status updates.
  • Monitor project risks, issues, and mitigation strategies throughout delivery.
  • Support system, process, and policy changes impacting tax, invoicing, and reporting.
  • Drive testing, change management, and implementation readiness activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of Project Management experience leading enterprise initiatives.
  • Experience delivering large regulatory, compliance, ERP, finance transformation, or technology implementation projects.
  • PMP certification is preferred but not required.
Skills and Job‑Specific Competencies
  • Experience leading enterprise‑level projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, governance, and delivery.
  • Experience with project planning, governance, scheduling, milestone management, and project reporting.
  • Experience identifying, managing, and mitigating project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Experience supporting financial systems, ERP, or enterprise technology implementation projects.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and other project management and reporting tools.
  • Experience with organizational change management, implementation planning, and business readiness activities.
  • Strong executive communication skills with the ability to present project updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Experience providing cross‑functional leadership across business, technology, and operational teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships and influence decision‑making at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in fast‑paced environments.
  • Strong strategic problem‑solving and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex project challenges.
  • Self‑motivated professional with the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high‑quality results.

Salary

Range

The compensation for this specific role is based on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to education, licensure and certifications, location, experience, and training. A reasonable estimate for the current hourly range for this role is $85 – $100.
