Lead QA Engineer

Typical tasks include creating and executing test plans and test cases based on user stories and technical design documents, working closely with the development team, business analysts, and other test engineers. The candidate will develop, document, and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts such as test data, data validation, harness scripts, and automated scripts. They will perform manual, exploratory, functional, regression, and performance testing of the Digital Evidence application to identify gaps in functional requirements/specifications.

The candidate will ensure timely completion of QA deliverables to meet the defined requirements of the project, learn and understand the business domain, technology, and application architecture independently, identify coverage of functional requirements, architectural components, functions, and performance, identify appropriate regression tests and analyze results to make recommendations, execute end-to-end test plans, ensuring that all objectives are met and the solution works as expected, work closely with developers, business analysts, stakeholders, and other testing team members to deliver high-quality applications and experiences to customers, self-manage and adjust to competing priorities and juggle among various tasks, provide a test strategy by reviewing functional requirements, technology specifications, and software design components, communicate effectively with users, technical teams, and management on an ongoing basis about the testing of the application and integrations, work with team leads to provide accurate effort estimation of works, and keep detailed documentation of all work and provide frequent sharing sessions with technical as well as functional teams.

Training and experience required include sufficient education, training, and experience to demonstrate the possession and direct application of the following knowledge and abilities. The contractor is required to provide quality assurance testing support for the Digital Evidence Management application, including data migration, user interface, and integrations among systems. The minimum experience for testing required is 8 years, including user interface, database scripting, business rules, data integrations.

The candidate must possess in-depth working knowledge with testing tools and technologies, such as Selenium, Cucumber, JavaScript, Python, Java, Groovy; API testing tools, such as SoapUI, JMeter, Postman, and Test Case Management; load testing in application and integration; developing test plans, managing tasks, and tracking defects independently. The test engineer must have strong technical aptitude in software testing, with 8 years of testing experience with Selenium, SoapUI, Java and/or Groovy scripting.

The candidate needs to have at least 4 years of working knowledge with Git Hub, Jenkins, automation framework, SQL/database scripting, and a defect tracking tool such as Jira and MS Dev Ops. The candidate should also have experience in performance testing of software applications, application interfaces, and file transfers. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related engineering major is required.
