Media competency center is looking for Researchers and Engineers to help to design, innovating and building our next generation immersive media communication solutions for video, volumetric media and XR applications. If you are passionate about cutting-edge immersive media, desire to lead system design, apply the latest research to resolve practical problems and put the solutions into hundreds of millions of mobile devices, this is a role you will enjoy and prosper.
The contractor in the area of mobile computing and graphics will help to build the future compression and immersive media delivery platform for consumer business group. This position will be responsible for the research and development of the immersive media distribution, media codec algorithms for point cloud data, participation in international standard development and active contribution to consumer devices technologies base on mobile platform.
- Responsible for building the point cloud compression and delivery algorithms and integration into a platform on mobile systems, including point cloud compression.
- Responsible for data collection and management framework design, implementation and integration with international standard reference software.
- Responsible for the point cloud compression algorithm testing, performance benchmarking, and improvement through software development iterations.
- Education:
Master or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or related Applied Mathematics - Experience with graphics technologies as Vulkan or OpenGL, mobile software development, proficient in C/C++, and Python
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: augmented reality, video compression, statistical signal processing, image classification
- Good oral and written communication skills, be able to submit papers and technical contributions to major multimedia conferences/workshops and international standard
- A true team player, able to work in a fast-paced environment, proven success in working within a globalized multi-culture organization.
- Previous intern experience in major companies working with mobile computing systems and context awareness frameworks.
- Good experience in software development on a terminal system, such as Linux.
- Experience with video compression platforms, such as HM, JEM and PCC test models.
- Experience with one fo the AR platforms, such as AR Core, AR Kit
