Process Consultant
As an IT Project Manager:
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver projects in area of responsibility within allocated budget, scope, and timeline. Will be responsible for planning and executing small to mid size projects and/or for timely renewal of maintenance and subscription contracts. May serve as a team lead on a larger, complex project.
- Coordinate with the Applied Materials Project Management Office, and assist in the completion of all required project deliverables and documentation through all phases of the project.
- Work with the project’s leaders to identify and mitigate risks in order to ensure the project executes on time and on budget.
- Work with all project team members to identify and document issues, as well as drive their resolution so as to minimize the impact to the project plan and/or budget.
- Help the project team prepare regular communications regarding project status, issues, and pending actions to the core implementation team, stakeholders, and the executive leadership team.
- Adheres to and guides junior staff and contingent workers to adhere to corporate procedures and methodology for project management, software application development, testing, service management, change management, RCA, and other relevant processes, standards, governance and controls. May manage execution of SOX controls and tests and support internal and external audits.
- Responsible for the selection, on boarding and off boarding of contingent workers in a timely manner. Manages contingent worker project/task assignments and ensures work product quality. Approves contingent worker time sheets/invoices and/or SOW milestone deliverables.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Evaluates system enhancement requests, estimates effort and cost of requests.
- Understands the architecture of new technologies and evaluates them based on the security and privacy IT standards of the company. Presents findings to the internal IT architectural review board.
- Coordinates with Human Resources teams to implement solutions.
- Provides guidance on system functionalities and limitations for applications like Workday, Saba, Hadoop and Service Now.
- Manages HR projects and ensures compliance with corporate project methodology.
Requirements
- 3-5 years project management experience, Agile or PMP certification preferred.
- 4-7 years hands on business process configuration experience with Workday modules like HCM, Talent, Recruiting is mandatory.
- Hands on experience with Workday reports, integrations and web services.
- Understands Workday security features and controls, knowledge of SOX and data privacy regulations.
- Experience working with diverse HR related cloud applications (e.g. benefits, training content providers) and an understanding of how these integrate with core HR systems such as Workday and Saba. Previous experience with Saba and/or Service Now is preferred.
- Must possess HR functional knowledge and understand HR business processes.
- Ability to holistically understand internal and external applications and how they integrate with each other. Ability to perceive and understand business context in which applications are used.
- Experience working with business stakeholders to gather requirements and support full life cycle configurations and integrations.
- Experience using other data analytics and reporting applications such as Hadoop or Tableau is preferred
- Ability to communication appropriately to multiple levels in the organization, including customers, peers, executives, and upper management. Must be confident and comfortable presenting in front of peers and customers.
- Must possess excellent English communications – both verbal and written.
- Analytical team player, able to learn quickly, comfortable working within a matrix management environment.
- Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
