From applied research to advanced engineering, the Engineering Technologist team has the expertise to shape ground-breaking products, material and processes. It's a fascinating field of work. We are involved in assessing the competition, developing technology and product strategies and generating intellectual property. In this role you will lead a team of technologists in the CTIO organization who create and evangelize software and hardware IT solutions to some of the largest and most strategic data center customers in the world while also driving industry standards around emerging technologies.

• Lead a team of highly skilled SME's in the development of next generation large scale AI Systems including accelerated compute, AI fabrics and AI optimized storage and AI Software Stack.
• Assimilate and understand the industry and competitive environment for a given technology or product line, and derive a technology/product strategy from this information.
• Lead technology investigations, perform a strategic analysis of the industry capabilities, and develop recommendations that influence the technical product strategy and/or definition of products for a given product line, including evaluation of potential acquisitions and vendor partner opportunities.
• Engage design teams, systems engineering, marketing teams, suppliers, and business unit leaders and executives to ensure the strategy or product architecture meets Dell's requirement of product leadership for the given technology area or product line.

• 18 years overall experience with 5 years leading and directing the strategic and operational objectives of their organization related to HPC clusters, AI compute, AI datacenter, AI storage, etc.
• AI hardware and software infrastructure and understanding of the challenges in scaling AI infrastructure including large scale GPU servers, liquid cooling and power, networking, storage, operational challenges with managing and maintaining the infrastructure, etc., along with exposure to AI software layers including Kubernetes, PyTorch, vLLM, etc., and an understanding of how AI workloads perform and scale on this infrastructure.
• Experience developing long‑term technology strategies based on technical and business information.
• Drives internal and external alignment of the strategy and develops differentiation opportunities, provides technical information, and makes recommendations to marketing, procurement, engineering, customers, and business executives.
• Participates as required in strategic initiatives for improvements in process, quality, and cost.

Advanced degree such as Ph.D., Masters, or equivalent experience.
