This customer-facing engineering role is for an expert in AI networking systems who will provide leadership to our customers who believe that deep learning, data science, networking, and generative artificial intelligence are a new computing revolution with the potential to transform the industry.

We are looking for an extraordinary Software Engineer focused on Networking and AI factory challenges. Your primary responsibilities will be customer engineering engagements for NVIDIA Networking products for systems deployed in the AI factories. You will work multi-functionally with internal organizations and ensure positive collaboration with external customers. You should be comfortable in a dynamic environment and have experience working with embedded systems.

You will use your people skills and technical knowledge to provide design-in support for our networking and AI products in customer systems. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently are essential. Experience with networking, DPDK, or DOCA is a plus, as well as the ability to pick up new technologies and skills.

What you’ll be doing:

• Establish yourself as a technical expert in embedded networking products, mainly Blue Field and ConnectX product lines, directly supporting sales account and program managers, working closely with the team to secure design wins

• Demonstrate self-sufficiency by proactively identifying solutions, independently mastering new technologies, leveraging AI-powered tools to accelerate your development and productivity, and driving projects with minimal supervision

• Engage with strategic customers and partners to train, design, build, and productize solutions based on our networking products

• Identify customer architectures and key product and production requirements with regard to AI networking at hyperscale, software-defined networking, and the latest GPU hardware

• Represent the group in cross-org/leadership and customer technical discussions

What we need to see:

• A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related science degree (or equivalent experience)

• 5+ overall years in a similar or related role

• Thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining commitment to customer success

• Knowledge of networking protocols, especially RoCE, Infiniband, and the common L1 to L4 protocols

• Background in high-performance networking and low-level programming, with strong proficiency in C

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong time-management and organization skills for coordinating multiple initiatives, priorities, and implementations of new technology and products into sophisticated projects

• Self-motivated to independently acquire new skills and knowledge

• Willingness to use AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance engineering tasks and problem-solving

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• Proved record working with customers and developing strategic solutions

• Embedded, Networking, DPDK, NCCL, or DOCA development experience

• Hands-on experience in Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA), AI workloads, NCCL, CUDA, Congestion Control, and performance tuning

• Demonstrated drive for innovation and self-learning, such as independently mastering new technologies, leading projects from concept to delivery, participating in product hackathons, rapid prototyping, or contributing to patents and intellectual property
