Position Overview

Sr. Dev Ops Engineer – Shockwave Medical

Location:

Johnson & Johnson is hiring for a Sr. Dev Ops Engineer on the Shockwave Medical team focused on the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) treatments.

Essential Job Functions
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code using best practices in software development and IT infrastructure management.
  • Automate the software delivery pipeline through configuration management tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, or Salt, containerization technologies like Podman, and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Implement logging solutions to ensure high availability of applications and services.
  • Implement code and vulnerability scanning and automated testing with tools such as Vector Cast, Coverity, linters, Blackduck, etc.
  • Perform regular maintenance, updates, and optimizations of the technology stack, including troubleshooting related to performance, security, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement and manage CI/CD pipelines enabling continuous integration and delivery.
  • Design complex pipelines in Jenkins with code scanning, security standards, and software bill of materials.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in Dev Ops, cloud computing, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Lead projects and initiatives to improve the technology stack, including migrations from legacy systems to modern platforms.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (advanced degrees preferred).
  • 5–8 years of proven experience as a Dev Ops Engineer.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD and multiple integrations.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Terraform, Bash, etc., and configuration management tools like Ansible or Salt.
  • Hands‑on experience with containerization technologies (Podman or Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and concepts such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar technologies.
  • Preferably has worked on IoT and embedded systems.
  • Strong experience with code scanning and secure coding standards like MISRA, implemented within Jenkins.
  • Experience with test automation and code review tools such as Vector Cast, Coverity, linters, Blackduck, Snyk, Sonar Qube.
  • Experience in creating software bill of materials to expose vulnerabilities.
  • Hardware in the loop and security testing experience (nice to have).
  • Security‑first mindset and experience working in regulated environments (nice to have).
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and capacity for continuous learning and adaptation.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and mentoring experience (preferred).
