Fourways Consulting is hiring a highly skilled Network SME / Network Architect to design and secure enterprise network environments in Santa Clara, CA. This role is critical for building Zero Trust–aligned architectures and implementing secure access controls using Cisco ISE, NAC, and next‑generation firewalls.

As a Network SME / Architect, you will act as a technical authority for enterprise network security and access control solutions. You will design, implement, and optimize secure wired and wireless environments using 802.1X, Cisco ISE, and NAC frameworks. The role requires strong hands‑on experience with multiple firewall technologies and modern Zero Trust principles. You will work closely with security, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver resilient, compliant, and scalable network architectures.
✅ Key Responsibilities- Design and architect secure enterprise network and access control solutions
- Implement and manage Cisco ISE, 802.1X, and NAC environments
- Define and enforce Zero Trust network security architectures
- Configure, manage, and optimize firewalls (ASA, FTD, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
- Design and support VPN and secure remote access solutions
- Troubleshoot complex network and security issues across layers
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams on secure designs
- Review network security posture and recommend improvements
- Maintain documentation for network architecture and configurations
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering, SME, or architecture roles
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Cisco ISE, 802.1X, and NAC
- Deep experience with firewalls: ASA, FTD, Palo Alto, Fortinet
- Strong knowledge of Zero Trust security principles
- Solid understanding of network security, VPNs, and access control
- Strong grasp of enterprise networking fundamentals
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Experience designing large‑scale enterprise or campus networks
- Exposure to cloud or hybrid network security models
- Industry certifications (CCNP/CCIE, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
- Experience supporting highly regulated environments
- Ability to act as a trusted technical advisor to clients or leadership
