We are seeking a motivated and organized Lab Technician to support client’s Customer Service Lab team. The role will be responsible for day-to-day lab and equipment operations, including rack and stack, network cabling, device auditing, remote access support, ticket management, documentation, and lab organization. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience in a network lab or data center environment, strong cable management skills, and basic knowledge of networking, Windows, VMware, and Linux.
The candidate should be self-motivated, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with physical networking equipment.
- Configure and support remote access to lab services using SSL VPN, RDP, VNC, or View Client.
- Perform rack and stack activities and cable network topologies based on engineering and lab administration requirements.
- Maintain organized, clean, and presentable lab environments while monitoring equipment, power, and cooling conditions.
- Audit physical and virtual devices, including connections, serial numbers, IP addresses, and related asset information.
- Manage network cabling, identify copper and fiber connections, and maintain patch panel and cable documentation.
- Monitor the ticket queue, update and reassign tickets, coordinate requests with appropriate teams, and maintain accurate technical documentation.
- 1–3 years of experience in a network lab, data center, technical support, or similar environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with network cabling, cable management, patch panels, copper/fiber connections, and physical equipment.
- Basic understanding of network administration, SSH/console access, IP addressing, and network troubleshooting.
- Basic Windows and VMware administration, including managing virtual machines.
- Strong communication, responsiveness, documentation, and ability to work within SLA and ticket-priority requirements.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco and Arista switches.
- Experience working with firewalls and troubleshooting basic network outages.
- Basic experience with CentOS, Ubuntu, or other Linux distributions.
- Experience with network or engineering labs supporting enterprise security products.
- Strong understanding of data center cabling, rack/stack operations, and physical network infrastructure.
- Ability to identify and resolve basic technical issues before they become larger problems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to lab cleanliness, equipment tracking, and documentation accuracy.
- High level of responsiveness, follow-through, professionalism, and work ethic.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs as required for lab equipment handling.
