Job Summary
Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Procurement/Surgical Robotics – OTTAVA (Santa Clara, USA). Leads a team of sourcing professionals to support commercialization of Ottava and Digital Solutions in Surgical Robotics & Digital Solutions. The role drives the sourcing operating model, category strategies, supplier management, financial performance, and scalable processes to ensure cost, quality, delivery and innovation objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, coach and develop a team of sourcing professionals; establish roles, responsibilities and performance expectations aligned to business priorities.
- Build organizational capability across strategic sourcing, negotiation, supplier management, category strategy and financial acumen.
- Define and implement the sourcing operating model and standard work; deliver category strategies in alignment with enterprise‑wide teams.
- Develop scalable processes for supplier selection, contracting and performance management to ensure supply continuity and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to launch products on time and scale suppliers to future demand.
- Support procurement citizenship initiatives, including diversity and inclusion.
- Drive sourcing initiatives to improve COGS and create a gross‑profit improvement roadmap; deliver financial commitments (CIPs, PPV/market inflation) and savings pipelines.
- Lead RFP/I/Qs, Request for Proposals/Information/Quotes, and supply agreement contracts, guiding the team through contracting processes.
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred Engineering—mechanical, electrical, etc.).
- 10+ years of sourcing or relevant experience in high‑urgency/critical‑stakes environments.
- Track record of successfully completing complex projects on time, within cost and quality parameters.
- Experience implementing digital, automated solutions to optimize business results via digital transformation.
- Demonstrated supplier cost negotiations and contracting experience with favorable financial results (multi‑million dollar savings).
- Leadership, inter‑personal communication and presentation skills to influence business direction.
- Adaptability in high‑ambiguity environments and effective change‑management strategies.
- Experience in highly matrixed large organizations and start‑up environments.
- Proficiency in SAP or a similar project software toolkit.
- Master’s Degree (MS, MBA, finance, engineering, supply chain, information systems, etc.).
- Multi‑country experience.
- Professional certifications: APICS‑CPIM, CSCP, PMP, CAPM, ISM, Lean, Six Sigma.
- Medical Devices industry experience; knowledge of ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820.
- Travel: up to 20% domestic and/or international.
- Attendance policy: JNJ Flex Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
