the position:the city of santa clara is seeking an experienced, energetic and collaborative leader to serve as its next inspections manager to support the leadership and daily operations of the building division. Under direct supervision of the building official, or under the general direction of the community development director, this position serves as the responsible manager overseeing our building inspection group and works in close collaboration with our plan review, code enforcement, permit tech and admin teams.
the building inspections manager ensures the consistent application of state and local codes, provides training and technical guidance to staff, assists in the development and implementation of division policies and procedures and may perform complex inspections as needed. In the absence of the building official, this position may act as the building official and provide overall divisional oversight. The role requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and effective communication and leadership in a dynamic regulatory environment.
A casp certification is highly desirable but not required.
