Life Moves is the largest and most effective provider of interim housing and services for homelessness in Silicon Valley since 1987. Our Mission is to end homelessness by providing interim housing, supportive services, and building collaborative partnerships. With over two dozen interim supportive housing communities and more on the way, Life Moves gives our neighbors experiencing homelessness a temporary place to call home while providing intensive, customized case management through site-based programs and community outreach.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Director of Individual Giving leads and grows Life Moves' individual major and principal giving program, playing a central role in advancing the organization's $20 million annual fundraising goal. This role carries a personal portfolio of major and principal gift donors and prospects capable of six- and seven-figure giving, while building, coaching, and holding accountable a team of gift officers who share the same relationship-first approach to fundraising, and partners deeply with Life Moves' Corporate & Community Engagement and volunteer management team to ensure individual and corporate-partner relationships are aligned and mutually reinforcing.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned frontline fundraiser who has personally solicited and closed six- and seven-figure gifts and has led an individual giving program at scale, and who leads with a stewardship mindset — prioritizing long-term donor relationships and trust over transactional asks. This is not an entry-level or first-time management opportunity. Life Moves is seeking a leader who can inspire, coach, and hold team members accountable to ambitious individual and team fundraising goals, using moves-management principles to guide donors through the full donor journey from identification through stewardship.

• Manage and grow a personal portfolio of major and principal gift donors and prospects, personally identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and closing gifts at the six- and seven-figure level.
• Build, lead, and coach a team of 2–3 gift officers, setting individual and team fundraising goals, providing regular feedback and professional development, and holding team members accountable to results.
• Develop and implement moves-management strategies for the individual giving portfolio, ensuring donors move systematically through identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Champion a stewardship-first philosophy across the individual giving program, ensuring donors experience Life Moves as a genuine, long-term partner rather than a transactional relationship.
• Partner with the CEO, board and organizational leadership on strategy for Life Moves' most significant donor relationships, including joint donor visits, solicitations, and stewardship.
• Partner deeply with Life Moves' Corporate & Community Engagement and volunteer management team to align major donor relationships with corporate partnerships and volunteer engagement opportunities.
• Build deep relationships with Program leadership and leverage their expertise to nurture donor relationships.
• Serve as a senior advisor to the CEO and Development leadership on individual giving trends, risks, and opportunities.
