Job Title: Power System Research Scientist
SummaryHitachi Energy, within the Energy Solutions Division, is seeking a Power System Research Scientist to conduct research in power system analysis for both distribution and transmission systems. The role involves collaborating with internal and external cross‑functional teams, including utility partners, academic institutions, and government agencies, and publishing findings in peer‑reviewed journals.
Responsibilities- Conduct research in power system analysis, focusing on both distribution and transmission.
- Collaborate with internal and external cross‑functional teams.
- Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed papers/journals.
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field with 1‑3 years of experience in power system analysis.
- Demonstrated expertise in distribution and transmission system analysis.
- Knowledge of power flow, stability, and contingency analysis; economic analysis; smart‑grid technologies; microgrids; DER management and control systems.
- Proficiency in Python; AI/ML algorithm development experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with power system simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, OpenDSS, PSSE, or GridLAB‑D.
