Barista;

• We are hiring immediately for a full‑time BARISTA position.
• Location:
  
  Santa Clara University – 301 Market Street, Santa Clara, CA 95053.
• Schedule:
  
  Full‑time Monday–Thursday 9:00 am–5:30 pm;
  Friday 7:00 am–3:30 pm.
• Requirement: 1 year of previous barista experience preferred.
• Pay: $26.73 per hour (fixed rate).

Makes and serves coffee/espresso drinks and related food and beverage items. Handles food according to HACCP guidelines and quality standards. Interacts with customers and employees friendly and courteous.

• Prepares espresso orders using standard measures and recipes.
• Enters orders accurately into POS device; accepts cash and charge payments.
• Replenishes condiments, beverages and supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area.
• Ensures proper presentation, portion control and temperature per HACCP standards.
• Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils.
• Ensures proper food preparation using approved recipes.
• Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during service.
• Cleans equipment and workstation before leaving area for other assignments.
• Greets customers courteously and addresses concerns to supervisors.
• Serves customers quickly, preventing delays in serving lines.
• Demonstrates a complete understanding of the daily menu and explains items to customers.
• Assists customers in purchasing decisions through effective communication.
• Merchandises display foods attractively and serves food neatly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
