Licensed Optician Santa Clara, CA-Sunglass Hut

General Function

A licensed Optician at Sunglass Hut will serve as an ambassador of the Sunglass Hut brand by delivering great service through the Sunglass Hut Experience. He or she will be an on-the-floor leader, filling ophthalmic sunglass prescriptions and fitting/adapting lenses and frames. The Optician will also perform all functions related to the Sunglass Hut Experience and Store Operations to support and assist management in achieving sales goals, and will learn and maintain knowledge of the policies and procedures for opening, closing, and operating the store.

• Welcome all customers and set expectations with customers
• Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescription in lenses
• Act as a leader in optical acumen
• Take and record measurements, accurately adjust and fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs
• Assist team with complex product needs and prescriptions
• Accurately and thoroughly use technology despite time pressure and customer volume; demonstrate exceptional product knowledge and use appropriate tools
• Proactively explore root cause of issues, forward thinking, ensure customers are satisfied and expectations are exceeded, solution driven
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time with competing priorities
• Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies
• Take pride in store appearance, help to keep store clean, attractive and organized
• Resourceful and self‑motivated with a desire for continual learning, improvement and results
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions and inventory management

• High School graduate or equivalent
• State Licensure in Opticianry
• Optical dispensing experience
• Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener and team builder
• Knowledge of current store merchandise
• Strong basic math skills
• Awareness of current fashion trends
• Selling skills – ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet
• Familiarity with POS, computers and calculators
• Embrace new technology and change

• Previous customer service and retail experience

Pay Range: 25.02–39.02
