Data Center Security Specialist, AMER-NW Data Center Security

AWS is looking for an exceptional Data Center Security Specialist with a strong track record of supporting security programs within data center facilities, demonstrable program/project management experience, comprehensive security operations knowledge, and a deep understanding of physical security standards, processes, and requirements.

As a Data Center Security Specialist (DSS) at an AWS site, you will own the execution of multiple security disciplines in support of fast-moving operations and manage a wide array of projects designed to protect personnel, customer data, and critical infrastructure from insider and external threats. You will also be responsible for managing onsite security forces. You must obsess over internal and external customers and successfully deliver support and services in an environment where priorities shift extremely fast.

• Managing physical security operations
• Developing post orders
• Defining security procedures
• Handling site incidents
• Working with security equipment
• Participating in construction projects and driving day‑to‑day process improvement activities
• Managing vendors
• Ensuring consistent deployment of all required security policies and procedures
• Participating in recurring site audits and reviews
• Testing new security technologies

Duties include ensuring consistent deployment of all required security policies and procedures and participating in recurring site audits and reviews and testing new security technologies.

As a Data Center Security Specialist you will be tasked with driving operational security excellence in several separate facilities located within a short driving distance. Your constant vigilance will discover physical security gaps and shortcomings, which you will drive to fix immediately. You will interface and direct vendors involved in new security construction, repairs, daily security operations, patrols, and planning. You will extract metrics and observe improvements by looking at hard data.

You will make suggestions on improving electronic surveillance and physical access controls, direct efforts to educate data center personnel on false alarm reductions, write and implement security processes and procedures, and write reports, create presentations, and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.

• 2+ years of overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors experience

• 4+ years of security-related professional experience, or 2+ years of security-related professional experience
• 2+ years of leadership experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
