This is a hands‑on technical position requiring strong mechanical aptitude, disciplined troubleshooting, and the ability to work independently around sophisticated industrial machinery.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience repairing CNC mills, lathes, grinders, or similar production equipment. Experience with machine‑tool alignment, spindle systems, bearings, ball screws, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, lubrication systems, and basic electrical components will be especially valuable.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and basic electrical problems affecting CNC and manual machine tools.
  • Perform corrective repairs on CNC mills, lathes, grinders, machining centers, and related manufacturing equipment.
  • Inspect, repair, rebuild, adjust, and replace mechanical components such as bearings, belts, pulleys, gears, shafts, couplings, pumps, valves, cylinders, way systems, ball screws, and spindle assemblies.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to improve machine reliability and reduce unplanned customer downtime.
  • Troubleshoot machine vibration, excessive noise, positioning problems, lubrication failures, overheating, leaks, and mechanical alignment issues.
  • Assist with the installation, commissioning, leveling, alignment, and functional testing of new and relocated machinery.
  • Use precision instruments and diagnostic tools to inspect machine condition and verify repairs.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment schematics, service manuals, parts diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Support basic electrical troubleshooting involving motors, switches, sensors, relays, wiring, limit switches, and machine‑control components.
  • Coordinate with internal technical personnel, equipment manufacturers, and parts suppliers when additional support is required.
  • Communicate findings, repair recommendations, required parts, and equipment condition clearly to customers and internal leadership.
  • Complete service reports documenting the problem, diagnostic process, repairs performed, replacement parts, and follow‑up recommendations.
  • Maintain company tools, diagnostic equipment, replacement parts, and assigned service materials.
  • Follow customer‑specific safety requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and established safe‑work practices.
  • Provide responsive and professional field service throughout the company’s customer territory.
  • Participate in technical training on new machine platforms, controls, and equipment technologies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while completing service assignments.
  • Travel to customer manufacturing facilities as required, with occasional overnight travel depending on assignment location.
Qualifications Needed:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical‑school training in industrial maintenance, machining, mechatronics, machine‑tool technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience repairing and maintaining CNC machine tools, manual machine tools, industrial production machinery, or similarly complex mechanical equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting CNC mills, lathes, grinders, machining centers, or related metalworking machinery.
  • Strong mechanical background involving bearings, spindles, ball screws, gearboxes, belts, pumps, valves, lubrication systems, and mechanical power‑transmission components.
