Senior Manager, Datacenter Software - Firmware Release

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead releases of firmware and software for rack‑scale compute and switch trays, ensuring end‑to‑end quality for data center deployments.
• Define release scope with product management, technical architects, and program management; deliver releases that pass validation for all customer use cases.
• Influence architecture, design, and implementation decisions for compute and switch tray software and firmware, ensuring quality across nightly, dev, and production drops.
• Partner with developers, SWQA, and product engineering to left‑shift quality, enforce metrics, and report KPIs to stakeholders.
• Ingest and package software and firmware binaries for deployment across multiple platforms and CSP environments.
• Document procedures and refine release workflows, removing bottlenecks and shaping the team roadmap with automation, AI‑assisted validation, and compliance reporting.
• Continuously review and identify improvement opportunities in release processes and infrastructure, focusing on automation and measurable targets.

• 12+ years overall in the software industry, specializing in system software or firmware development.
• 5+ years of proven technical, hands‑on leadership across multiple data‑center firmware teams.
• BS/MS/PhD in CS, CE, EE, or equivalent experience.
• Experience guiding complex software features or products through the entire lifecycle, ideally on rack‑scale datacenter products.
• Strong understanding of computer system architecture, OS principles, HW‑SW interactions, and performance optimization.
• Fluency in Python and Linux; experience with web framework and CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, Git Lab, Artifactory).
• Track record of balancing multiple projects and delivering against measurable benchmarks (MTTR, compliance, cadence, automation coverage).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams and time zones.

• Familiarity with datacenter server software architecture and in‑band/out‑of‑band firmware/hardware management.
• Understanding of REST architecture, especially JSON over HTTPs with OAuth and DMTF/PLDM/SPDM protocols.
• Proven experience building self‑service release infrastructure that reduces onboarding SLA times.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM tooling into engineering workflows for triage, test generation, code review, or release validation.
• Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams across US and APAC.

Base salary range: $272,000 to $431,250 USD. Eligible for equity and additional benefits.
