Senior System Software Engineer - Autonomous Vehicles Platform

The Autonomous Vehicles Platform team is seeking a Senior System Software Engineer to help bring NVIDIA's autonomous vehicle platform to the market. This role involves developing and productizing innovative solutions that will transform transportation and the field of self-driving cars. You will collaborate with talented and dedicated multi‑functional engineering teams across various vehicle sub‑systems to integrate their work into our autonomous driving DRIVE SW platform, ensuring compliance with all relevant NVIDIA and automotive standards and guidelines.

• Lead software integration with a systematic approach to streamline embedded development within NVIDIA and across NVIDIA Drive Autonomous vehicle solution partners.
• Architect and develop platform software, tools, file system customization, and software integration in various OS environments.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to enable CI for automated sanity testing, car validation, and software release delivery.
• Proactively work with system architects, software/firmware engineers, HW/SW QA teams, and application engineering teams to drive cross‑team dependency and schedule alignment, coordinate progress, and debug issues to meet production release timelines.
• Enhance integration efficiency to facilitate low latency development on Tegra‑based Autonomous Vehicle Simulation & car platforms.
• Regularly engage with customer teams to productize workflows for platform integration.
• Work closely with other software engineers to identify and implement build and packaging infrastructure requirements, and develop automated tests to accelerate development for Autonomous Vehicles.
• Operate in an environment involving Hypervisor, Linux, and QNX RTOS.

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 12+ years of experience working on software development for autonomous vehicles.
• Proficient debugging skills from application to kernel level on embedded hardware.
• Strong software development skills in Python.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple cross‑functional teams.
• Experience in software architecture design.
• Proven expertise in embedded systems and SW/HW cross‑domain knowledge.
• Ability and flexibility to work and communicate effectively in a multinational, multi‑time‑zone corporate environment.
• Self‑motivated, organized, and proactive.

• Experience with cloud services, Jenkins, and Docker in continuous integration and deployment systems.
• Prior experience in the automotive field.
• Familiarity with the Bazel build system.
• Experience with Linux and QNX file systems, and QNX RTOS is a major plus.
• Background in automotive ECU software integration.

Base salary range:
Level 5: $224,000 - $356,500. Level 6: $272,000 - $431,250. Eligible for equity and benefits.
