In this role you will join the Data Center Network organization within AWS Infrastructure Services, owning the design, planning, delivery, and operation of the Amazon global infrastructure. You will work with customers, leadership, and peers to automate and invent new ways of operating the AWS network, building best practices and improving operational procedures. You will deliver iterative impact while collaborating across AWS to maintain the highest safety and security standards and provide seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest cost.

You’ll solve complex, ambiguous problems with high quality and efficiency. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the vision, design, roadmap, and operationalization of customer‑facing services. You will have the freedom to chart directions through data‑driven decisions while working at a startup pace backed by a large company.

• Develop best‑in‑class software systems for automating Amazon’s network.

• Use and develop tools and processes that collect, rationalize, and reduce workloads from multiple sources.
• Use data to measure success and take responsibility for the quality of your services, striving to prevent faults from impacting customers.
• Work closely with Network Engineering teams to ensure fast and smooth software roll‑outs.
• Identify and troubleshoot recurring platform issues with effective escalation to senior engineering teams.
• Learn, design, and build cloud‑computing system software for a diverse set of customers.

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• 2+ years designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

The base salary range for this position is $ – $ annually.
