Overview

Help shape new Generative AIUX products for AWS customers. Our team builds Generative AIUX products that transform the way customers design, focusing on the future of design‑driven development and democratizing innovation for all builders. We provide a shared platform across multiple products and work on AI‑powered tools that use Design Systems to build interfaces, accelerate design, development, and validation workflows. The two products you will work on are Venue and Arena:
Venue is an AI‑powered internal prototyping tool that helps AWS builders create new features with the AWS Clouds cape Design system, while Arena is an external version that helps scale this offering to all of Amazon and external customers with a focus on rapid prototyping.

We are seeking a talented and passionate generative/agentic Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development of cutting‑edge AIUX solutions. AIUX intersects Artificial Intelligence and User Experience, designing for trust, transparency, and control to enhance productivity, automate repetitive tasks, and create engaging, intuitive, and efficient user experiences. The ideal candidate brings expertise in generative and agentic AI, data analysis, and building intelligent applications.

• Integrate with systems to manage asynchronous data flows from LLMs and other AI services.
• Ensure maximum speed and responsiveness of AI‑driven interfaces, especially when processing large datasets or real‑time streaming output.
• Design and own end‑to‑end systems, spanning backend services, APIs, data storage, and frontend integration.
• Build and evolve GenAI‑powered services that support design generation, validation, and automation workflows.
• Contribute to long‑term technical vision and architecture decisions.
• Balance short‑term delivery with scalable, maintainable system design.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand needs and translate them into robust solutions.
• Participate in hiring, mentor junior engineers, and raise the overall engineering bar.

• 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture for new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience with emerging generative and agentic technologies.
• Experience in machine learning and data science.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Experience with agentic orchestration.
• Prior experience working with AWS applications.
• Experience with Bedrock, Kiro, or Claude.

Base salary ranges: USA, CA, East Palo Alto – $–$ USD annually; USA, CA, Santa Clara – $–$ USD annually; USA, WA, Seattle – $–$ USD annually.
