System Development Engineer II – Redshift Control Plane Team

• Identifying and solving challenging systems, process, and tooling issues to improve customer experience
• Designing and implementing software components, products, or services that enhance operational efficiency
• Investigating technical issues thoroughly, performing root‑cause analysis, and implementing long‑term fixes
• Providing solutions to technically challenging real business problems in a global organization

• Design and code solutions that drive efficiencies in software architecture, creating metrics, implementing automation, and resolving root causes of software defects
• Build high‑impact solutions that deliver value to our large customer base
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders
• Work cross‑functionally to support business decisions with technical input
• Operate in a startup‑like development environment focused on the most important work

• 2+ years of professional software development experience
• 1+ year of designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
• 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands‑on systems engineering
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Power Shell, or Ruby

• Experience with Power Shell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
• Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology

Base salary range for this position:  –  USD annually. The Amazon package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Additional benefits include health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
