Senior Manager, Software Engineering – Cloud Platform; Security​/Identity

Job Summary

Cyber Ark LP @ Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead multiple teams building cloud platform services that secure machine identities at enterprise scale. You will drive the development of distributed systems that manage and protect identities across complex environments while providing technical and organizational leadership across a broader engineering organization.

You will play a key role in shaping engineering strategy, execution, and organizational growth, partnering across engineering, product, design, and leadership teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure platform capabilities that operate at the core of modern identity security.

• Lead and develop multiple teams of engineers building scalable backend and platform services across distributed systems
• Drive execution across the full software development lifecycle, ensuring predictable delivery, operational excellence, and high‑quality outcomes
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering Leadership to align organizational priorities with platform strategy and business objectives
• Establish technical direction and influence architectural decisions for services operating at enterprise scale
• Mentor engineering managers and senior engineers, fostering leadership growth and organizational effectiveness
• Build a culture of accountability, ownership, innovation, and strong engineering fundamentals

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in engineering management leadership roles
• Experience leading managers and/or multiple engineering teams in cloud‑native environments
• Strong background building scalable backend, platform, or infrastructure systems
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, service‑oriented architectures, and cloud platforms
• Proven track record of leading organizations through ambiguity while delivering complex, high‑impact initiatives
• Experience influencing technical strategy and organizational direction across multiple teams
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional leadership skills

• Experience with security platforms, identity systems, or infrastructure security
• Familiarity with certificate lifecycle management, PKI, or related domains
• Exposure to protocols such as TLS, X.509, ACME, or similar technologies
• Experience building platform, control plane, or cloud infrastructure services
• Experience leading globally distributed engineering teams

• Influence engineering strategy, architecture, and organizational direction
• Solve complex challenges across distributed systems and security domains
• Build and develop high‑performing engineering leaders and teams
• Work alongside experienced engineers and leaders in a fast‑moving, collaborative environment
• Drive cross‑functional collaboration across platform, infrastructure, security, and product organizations
• Identify organizational risks, remove execution barriers, and optimize team effectiveness
• Lead workforce planning, hiring, succession planning, and talent development across the organization
• Champion the adoption of AI‑assisted engineering practices to improve developer productivity and delivery efficiency

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non‑sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com‑missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus.
