OverviewThe future of software modernization is autonomous. AWS is building Transform Custom, an agentic AI system that independently learns your organization’s transformation patterns, executes them across hundreds of repositories, and continuously improves from every execution. This isn’t just another migration tool. It’s a fundamental shift in how enterprises eliminate tech debt and modernize ’ll build an agent that learns transformation patterns from documentation and code samples, executes them autonomously across entire codebases, and gets better through continual feedback.
All of this has to meet AWS’s exacting standards for scale, reliability, and security.
- Own technical direction and architecture of AWS Transform Custom’s agentic system.
- Work directly with customers to understand modernization challenges such as version upgrades, runtime migrations, language translations, and architectural decompositions.
- Translate customer challenges into product capabilities.
- Build and operate production systems using industry-leading CI/CD practices, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Design the learning engine that extracts transformation patterns from natural language and code samples.
- Build the execution engine that applies transformations autonomously across hundreds of applications.
- Implement and maintain the feedback loop that enables the agent to improve after each run.
- Ensure every technical choice meets AWS standards for scale, reliability, security, and operational excellence.
- Participate in code reviews, mentorship, and rapid skill development.
- Take ownership of projects, define technical direction, and shape how the team operates.
- 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
