Sr. Systems Dev Engineer, AI & Strategic Partner Engineering

This Senior Systems Development Engineer role is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). The team focuses on creating solutions that drive the adoption of SAP workloads on AWS, ensuring world‑class resilience for those workloads. The engineer will own back‑end subsystems, build and manage AI agents that handle operational tasks, and develop customer‑facing APIs used by millions of applications worldwide.

• Own systems end‑to‑end: proactively identify risks, limitations, and deficiencies; decompose complex problems into projects; set standards for engineering and operational excellence.
• Define technical direction, own architectural decisions, and drive cross‑team alignment to build resilient solutions with senior engineers and architects.
• Design, implement, deploy, and maintain distributed system software that enhances service security, durability, availability, performance, and cost‑efficiency for SAP workloads on AWS.
• Create and manage purpose‑built AI agents that triage alarms, diagnose root causes, analyze build pipelines, manage fleet health, and track fixes.
• Design operational patterns leveraging AI for monitoring, incident response, and automation to improve system resilience and reduce complexity.
• Own full‑stack delivery from design through production, emphasizing high availability, performance, fault tolerance, and customer delight.
• Lead architecture and operational reviews, partner with cross‑functional teams, and influence roadmaps with data‑driven insights.
• Communicate clearly with teammates, customers, and partners; represent the team externally.

• 6+ years of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
• 6+ years of designing or architecting systems for reliability and scaling.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of programming with a modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Power Shell, or Ruby.
• Expertise in SAP Domain including ABAP programming and knowledge of SAP systems (Business Suite, S/4
  
  HANA, Business Warehouse, HANA, Business Objects, etc.) and their architecture.
• Experience building with AI/ML technologies, including large language models and agentic systems, applied to operational tasks such as debugging, monitoring, or infrastructure management.
• Experience leading delivery of technology solutions across multiple teams, decomposing complex problems into deliverable projects.

• Deep knowledge of AWS services (compute, storage, networking, security, databases, ML, serverless) and architecture across multiple service domains in distributed environments.
• Experience with SAP agentic technologies (Joule, BTP AI Core, SAP AI Launchpad) and AWS AI services (Bedrock, Amazon Q, Step Functions).

The base salary range for this position is USD  –  annually (Seattle, WA). Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units.
