Amazon Open search service makes it easy to deploy, operate, and scale Open Search for log analytics, application monitoring, full‑text search, and more. It is a fully managed service that delivers Open Search’s easy‑to‑use APIs and real‑time capabilities with predictable performance and seamless scalability for production workloads.
The Open Search team seeks innovative engineers to develop the next generation of security features that help users secure and manage access to their data at cloud scale. You will work on complex system software in a customer‑centric, fast‑paced environment that feels like a startup.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop and support security for a world‑class platform serving individuals and businesses of all sizes
- Build technologies that help customers strengthen their security posture and meet security requirements in the AWS Cloud
- Work at the core of the AWS Open Search service, with ample opportunities to contribute to open source
- Address challenging problems in data storage, query optimization, JVM performance optimization, security, machine learning, and more
- Validate decisions with metrics and data sources to back assumptions
- Support plugin teams in meeting security requirements for host logging, patching, and vulnerability detection
- Challenge what exists and explore improvements to best meet evolving customer needs
- Participate in setting vision and objectives for AWS Open Search in alignment with customer needs and market opportunities
- 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience architecting and securing with Amazon Web Services (e.g. IAM, JWTokens, etc.)
The base salary range for this position is – USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
