Senior QA Software Engineer - Networking

Overview

NVIDIA is looking for a Senior QA Software Test Engineer to join the NVIDIA-Cumulus system Ethernet group. The role focuses on testing NVIDIA’s Ethernet Switch/Router products, including functional, automated, and regression testing of Cumulus Linux features in collaboration with design, test, and engineering teams.

• Functional testing of Layer 2 and Layer 3 features on NVIDIA‑Mellanox Spectrum Ethernet Switch systems running NVIDIA‑Cumulus Linux.
• Write detailed feature and system test plans, design test beds and topologies.
• Identify and report issues through a defect tracking system, and validate fixes and workarounds.
• Develop automated test suites for NVIDIA‑Cumulus Linux components.
• Build and maintain automation to support continuous functional regression.
• Collaborate with design, test, and other internal engineering groups to identify, report, and resolve problems.

• B.S. degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering.
• Strong scripting skills in Python (or equivalent);
  Ansible knowledge is a plus.
• Strong technical, problem‑solving, design, coding, and debugging abilities.
• Hands‑on experience with L2/L3 protocols such as MLAG, VLAN, STP, OSPF, BGP, and EVPN.
• Experience using test tools from Ixia or Spirent and test management systems.
• Proficiency with HP ALM or similar test management tools.
• Experience working on Unix or Linux operating systems.
• Team‑player with multitasking ability and strong interpersonal skills.
• Solid foundation in software engineering practices.

• Experience bringing up and troubleshooting Ethernet interfaces and modules.
• Knowledge of performance testing and performance issue resolution.
• Experience with CI methodologies and tools (Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, etc.).

• Base salary range:
  Level 3 – $140,000 to $224,250;
  Level 4 – $168,000 to $270,250.
• Eligible for equity and a comprehensive benefits package.
