Role Overview

We’re looking for a Backend Software Engineer with deep experience in distributed systems and application development. You’ll focus on designing and implementing the core backend services that power Viven’s AI products—ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and secure. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an early‑stage startup environment and is eager to take ownership of backend architecture for complex systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs to support AI‑driven applications.
  • Develop and manage microservices architecture for reliability, modularity, and growth.
  • Implement secure and efficient APIs, ensuring seamless integration with frontend and ML systems.
  • Collaborate with frontend and ML engineers to define requirements and deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
  • Optimize distributed systems for performance, fault tolerance, and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across the backend stack.
  • Contribute to technical design discussions and help define engineering best practices for the team.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in distributed systems development
  • Extensive experience with at least one application programming language, such as Python (strongly preferred), Java, or Go.
  • Deep experience with distributed systems and large‑scale backend architectures.
  • Proven experience building microservices and scalable APIs.
  • Solid understanding of system design, data models, and API security.
  • Experience working at an early‑stage startup or on 0→1 products
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to own complex projects from concept to production.
