Netris is the leading network automation platform for AI clouds. AI is the largest infrastructure buildout in history, and networking is its bottleneck. Netris is the automation and multi-tenancy layer for AI cloud networking, enabling operators to launch GPU clouds in weeks, provision tenants instantly, and maximize GPU utilization. The company experienced 800% ARR growth in the last 12 months, with 35+ live GPU cluster deployments globally and growing, and is backed by Andreessen Horowitz.
SDN reinvented data center networking, and Netris is doing it for the AI cloud with NAAM:
Network Automation, Abstraction, and Multi-Tenancy.
We’re looking for a Vice President of Engineering to lead software engineering at Netris as we scale both our product and our organization.
Reporting directly to the CEO , you’ll lead an engineering organization of approximately 35–70 engineers across Silicon Valley, Armenia, and across the world , driving engineering execution, delivery, quality, and organizational growth. This is an engineering execution leadership role responsible for building a high-performing software organization while partnering closely with Product Management, Architecture, and Customer Success organizations.
The Product and Architecture departments own the long-term technical direction, platform architecture, and major technical design decisions. Your responsibility is to build an engineering organization that consistently delivers against that vision with speed, quality, and predictability.
Success in this role requires someone who understands both how modern networking works and how to build world-class software organizations. You should be equally comfortable discussing BGP or EVPN with engineers, coaching engineering managers, improving development processes, and delivering enterprise-grade software on a predictable cadence.
This role is based full-time in our Santa Clara headquarters (hybrid). We believe our engineering leadership team is most effective working together in person.
What you’ll do- Lead an engineering organization of approximately 35–70 engineers across software development, QA, release engineering, and engineering operations in Silicon Valley, Armenia, and across the world.
- Own engineering execution, people leadership, software delivery, product quality, release cadence, and engineering operations.
- Build, coach, and develop engineering managers while creating an environment where engineers can do their best work.
- Drive predictable execution through Agile/Scrum practices, engineering metrics, sprint discipline, and continuous process improvement.
- Build a metrics-driven engineering culture with strong QA automation, CI/CD, engineering KPIs, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with the Architecture organization to translate technical strategy into high-quality software delivered on schedule.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Customer Success, Solutions Engineering, and Support to ensure customer feedback rapidly becomes product improvements.
- Recruit, develop, and retain exceptional engineering talent while scaling the organization and continually raising the engineering bar.
- Have led software engineering organizations delivering complex infrastructure software at a networking, cloud infrastructure, virtualization, or data center technology company.
- Have experience leading multiple software engineering teams, engineering managers, QA organizations, and Agile/Scrum software development processes.
- Have a deep understanding of networking fundamentals and modern data center networking technologies such as routing, switching, EVPN-VXLAN, virtualization, cloud networking, and network automation.
- Have succeeded at both a large networking infrastructure company (such as Cisco, Juniper Networks, Arista Networks, VMware, Palo Alto Networks, or similar), where you learned engineering discipline, process, and quality,
