Job Description & How to Apply Below
  • We are the Industry Vertical Engineering team  design and build specialized software solutions tailored to the unique workflows, data models, and compliance needs of specific sectors, including high-tech, telecommunications, healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing
  • We are building the next generation of industry-specific enterprise applications, and increasingly these applications are AI-native: their core behavior is model-driven rather than explicitly authored. They interpret user intent, reason over context, invoke tools, and act on the user’s behalf, all while respecting the complex business workflows and specialized data models of the industries we serve
  • As an Associate Applications Development Engineer, you will complete well-scoped, clearly-defined tasks under close guidance from senior engineers. You will contribute to production software across the full application stack — from user-facing interfaces to back-end services and APIs — while building foundational skills in full-stack development, code quality, and AI-assisted engineering
  • Complete guided bug fixes, simple feature enhancements, and test writing across front-end (React/Angular/Vue, HTML5/CSS3) and back-end (REST/GraphQL APIs, business logic) layers, following established team conventions
  • Contribute to features that incorporate AI-native behavior — such as agentic workflows and conversational experiences — under the direction of senior engineers, developing a working understanding of how these systems are designed and tested
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for your work; participate in code review as an author; and adhere to coding standards, linting rules, and documentation practices
  • Begin using AI coding assistants (such as Git Hub Copilot or Cursor) under supervision to accelerate implementation, learning to critically evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability rather than accepting it at face value
  • Learn to work within CI/CD pipelines, participate in deployments, and develop awareness of how code ships reliably and operates in production
  • Raise blockers promptly, ask questions freely, and communicate progress clearly to your tech lead and teammates in sprint ceremonies and check-ins
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and senior engineers to understand requirements and translate them into working, well-tested software
Benefits
  • Generous family leave
  • Matched donations
  • Annual learning stipends
  • Flexible PTO
  • Competitive retirement plan
  • Paid volunteer time
  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
  • This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry.
  • Basic familiarity with version control (Git), cloud application concepts, and software quality assurance practices including unit testing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Exposure to front-end development (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and a framework such as React, Angular, or Vue) and back-end concepts (REST APIs, databases).
  • Foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming; beginning‑level proficiency in at least one modern language and framework.
  • Curiosity about AI-native application development — how agents work, how prompts are engineered, and how non‑deterministic systems are tested — with a genuine desire to grow in this area.
  • 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience, or a strong academic background with relevant internship or project work.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, learning‑first mindset.
  • Ability to follow established team conventions, raise blockers promptly, and work within a structured, guided engineering environment.
  • Exposure to LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or agent frameworks through coursework, personal projects, or internships.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization basics (Docker), or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Interest in regulated industry domains such as high-tech, telecommunications, healthcare, financial services, or manufacturing.
  • Service Now platform experience or familiarity with enterprise SaaS applications.
