Job Description:
The Material Handler II supports Supply Chain and Manufacturing operations by ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, inventory control, movement and shipment of materials and finished products required to meet production and customer delivery schedules. This role contributes to operational excellence by maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting on-time delivery, and enabling efficient manufacturing workflows through accurate material handling and inventory management. The position operates in compliance with safety, quality, and applicable regulatory requirements while taking ownership of assigned warehouse processes and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Day In The Life:
Material Receiving & Inventory Management
- Receive incoming materials and verify shipments for accuracy and completeness.
- Distribute received materials to appropriate locations, including Incoming Quality Control (IQC), stockroom, or internal customers.
- Stock, replenish, and organize inventory within assigned warehouse locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory through proper receiving, storage, and material handling practices.
- Ensure materials are available to support manufacturing schedules and operational needs.
Shipping & Material Movement
- Pick, pull, stage, package, and prepare finished goods and completed systems for shipment.
- Load and unload materials and finished products using forklifts and other approved material handling equipment.
- Verify shipment accuracy and complete required shipping and system documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Support on-time customer deliveries through accurate and efficient shipping operations.
- Handle materials safely to prevent product damage and maintain workplace safety.
- Safely operate forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, and other approved material handling equipment.
Inventory Control & Warehouse Operations
- Perform daily cycle counts and inventory verification activities.
- Identify, investigate, and report inventory discrepancies to the Inventory Clerk or supervisor.
- Maintain organized warehouse storage locations and support efficient material flow.
- Support manufacturing operations by fulfilling material requests and ensuring timely material availability.
Quality, Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Follow established safety procedures, SOPs, and quality requirements in all warehouse activities.
- Complete inventory transactions and documentation accurately within ERP systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities that improve warehouse efficiency, inventory accuracy, and material flow.
- Perform other duties assigned to support business and operational objectives.

Education & Experience:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent and
- 1 year of related experience in a warehouse, material handling, manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, or other operations environment.
- Experience maintaining inventory accuracy and following standard operating procedures.
- Experience using ERP or inventory management systems to complete material transactions and maintain inventory accuracy.
Preferred:
- Technical certification or vocational training in Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing, biotechnology, or life sciences environment.
- Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Experience using SAP or other ERP systems for inventory management and shipping activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required:
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and material handling practices.
- Ability to accurately receive, store, pick, stage, and ship materials.
