We're partnering with a rapidly growing manufacturer that is expanding its accounting team due to continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a high-volume manufacturing environment and wants to make a meaningful impact while developing into a broader accounting leadership role.
Compensation: $140k to $155k + bonus + comprehensive benefits package
Location: This role is fully onsite in the San Fernando Valley area.
Responsibilities:
As Accounting Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day accounting operations while leading a team responsible for the month-end close, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory, and financial reporting. You'll collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, and executive leadership to improve processes and support a growing business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Supervise, mentor, and develop Staff and Senior Accountants
- Manage general ledger activities and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Oversee cost accounting, inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis
- Partner with Operations to analyze manufacturing costs, yields, waste, and production performance
- Review customer and product profitability reporting to support business decisions
- Oversee inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes
- Lead annual audit activities and coordinate with external auditors
- Drive accounting process improvements, internal controls, and ERP optimization
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Finance
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA is a plus)
- 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Previous experience leading or supervising accounting staff
- Manufacturing, CPG, food & beverage, or related industry experience strongly preferred
- Strong cost accounting experience, including standard costing, inventory, BOMs, routing, and manufacturing variance analysis
- Experience working in ERP systems such as Net Suite, SAP, SYSPRO, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or similar
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Advanced Excel skills
- A hands-on leadership style with a passion for developing people and improving processes
