Financial Reporting, Tax Accountant
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support its day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting activities. This position will contribute to the month-end close, account reconciliations, payroll, accounts payable, tax compliance, audits, and other key accounting functions.
The ideal candidate has at least three years of general accounting experience, strong Net Suite and Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Process general ledger entries, payroll, banking transactions, 401(k) reporting, and accounts payable.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Prepare accruals and assist with use tax filings and other tax compliance requirements.
- Review and import employee expense reports into Net Suite.
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, including prepaid expenses.
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for the annual financial audit.
- Assist with cost accounting analysis and review.
- Support corporate insurance, regulatory compliance, fundraising, and due diligence activities.
- Respond to external auditor requests and maintain organized, audit-ready documentation.
- Participate in special projects and other financial initiatives as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least three years of general accounting or related financial experience.
- Proficiency with Net Suite and Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance practices.
- Experience with accounts payable and expense-reporting platforms is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is a plus.
