Position

Manufacturing Engineer – Electronics – Defense – Onsite Position

Location

Santa Clarita, CA (Onsite)

Salary

83, USD per year plus bonus (salary range is a general guideline; final offer considers qualifications and market conditions).

Responsibilities
  • Perform analyses and design/assembly related to manufacturing and industrial engineering projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes for sub‑assemblies and final assemblies for defense applications.
  • Interface with design engineering to coordinate the release of new products and conduct reducibility reviews of engineering drawings.
  • Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and recommend tooling and processing requirements for new or existing production lines.
  • Support continuous‑improvement projects and implement new technologies to streamline operations.
  • Maintain records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
  • Participate in Manufacturing Readiness (MR) reviews to ensure MR level maturity before production.
  • Assist in evaluation of engineering changes and act as a technical liaison with program management, finance, design, quality, procurement, inspection, and production.
  • Create and update manufacturing standard procedures, manufacturing process flows, assembly work instructions, rework/repair instructions, and technical training materials; provide training to production and engineering staff.
  • Review and evaluate new technologies for adoption into operations.
  • Support based‑of‑estimate (BOE) activities for RFQs and RFPs, including new business, RMA, overhaul, and repair.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or industrial engineering.
  • 2–4 years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, electrical schematics, specifications, and use MS Office suite.
  • Knowledge of electronic and mechanical assembly principles.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing and integration and test work environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Problem‑solving ability and adaptability in low standardization contexts.
  • Experience in router and work instruction development.
  • Preferred:
    Minimum 3 years manufacturing or industrial engineering experience.
  • Experience with Agile PLM, S/4 HANA, Factory Logix, Lean and Six Sigma (green or black belt).
  • Experience with simulation software (e.g., Process Simulator).
