Tire-Vehicle Performance Engineer II

Location:
Santa Clarita, CA

Pay Range: 43$ - 58$ per hour

What’s the Job?
  • Optimize race car design and setup configurations through measurement, modeling, and analysis of the tire‑vehicle system
  • Provide expert guidance to race engineering teams on tire utilization and its impact on overall vehicle performance
  • Lead development, calibration, and validation of advanced tire models using simulation, rig testing, and real‑world data
  • Plan and execute tire rig, vehicle test, and Driver‑In‑Loop (DIL) simulator activities
  • Deliver clear analysis, reporting, and actionable performance insights to support holistic vehicle optimization
What’s Needed?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in professional motorsports
  • Proven expertise in vehicle dynamics simulation, tire and chassis systems, and limit‑handling performance
  • Strong proficiency in MATLAB, Python, statistical analysis, and machine learning for non‑linear regression
  • Experience with tire model development, simulation correlation, and design of experiments (DOE)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and communicate complex concepts clearly across teams
