Assistant Engineer

Civil Engineer I (Entry-Level)

Our client is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer to perform basic engineering and drafting tasks on a variety of projects. The selected candidate will apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria while working under the guidance of experienced professionals.

• Perform specific assignments designed to develop engineering knowledge and skills.
• Apply standard engineering practices and techniques on assigned tasks.
• Exercise limited engineering judgment when evaluating work details and making preliminary selections among engineering alternatives.
• Perform QA/QC reviews on assigned work, including checking and correcting errors prior to submission to the supervisor.
• Work under close supervision on new or non-routine assignments, with guidance provided on appropriate techniques and procedures.
• Stay current with industry developments, engineering methods, and best practices through training programs, workshops, and seminars.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education

• Bachelor s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.

Licensure

• Candidates who have successfully completed the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination are preferred.

• This is an entry-level position. No prior professional experience is required.
• Candidates must possess the skills and qualifications listed below.

• Demonstrated understanding and application of mathematics, engineering principles, and engineering theory.
• Proficiency with CADD software, engineering applications, and standard office software.
• Basic knowledge of graphic standards, engineering drafting techniques, and plan preparation.
• Understanding of QA/QC procedures and their application to engineering projects.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a collaborative engineering environment.
