Our client, a motorsports engineering organization, is seeking a Materials Engineer to join their team. As a Materials Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering team supporting materials development, laboratory analysis, metallurgical evaluations, and failure investigations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Materials Engineer
Location: Santa Clarita, CA (Onsite)
Pay Range: $38/hr - $55/hr
- Develop and update raw material specifications and support manufacturing, problem resolution, and material/process needs.
- Perform laboratory analysis on engine components and conduct metallurgical evaluations and failure investigations.
- Prepare metallurgical samples, including cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching for analysis.
- Conduct microscopic and macroscopic examinations and prepare reports with findings, conclusions, and corrective action recommendations.
- Maintain laboratory and analytical equipment and support advanced materials and process qualification activities.
- BS degree in Science or Engineering (preferably Materials Science) or equivalent experience.
- 2–3 years of Materials Engineering experience.
- Knowledge of material specifications, material testing procedures, and the ability to read engineering drawings and standard codes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, testing, and analysis skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
