Job OverviewTombot is seeking a Director of IT & Systems to own the technology platforms and infrastructure that support our products, customers, and internal teams. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure systems across IT, cloud infrastructure, and customer‑facing platforms.
The Director of IT & Systems will lead system architecture, integration, security, and reliability across the company, working closely with Engineering, Operations, and Customer Support to ensure systems are robust, well‑integrated, and ready to scale.
This is a hands‑on leadership role suited for someone who has built IT and systems infrastructure at a growing consumer hardware or connected‑device company.
CompensationThe expected compensation range for this position is $155K - $195K. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and market factors.
Responsibilities- Own Tombot’s IT and systems architecture, including internal platforms, cloud infrastructure, and customer‑facing systems
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable systems to support product launch and company growth
- Own cloud environments, identity and access management, security controls, backups, and disaster recovery
- Own the implementation, integration, and ongoing operation of CRM, ERP, and customer support systems to ensure reliable customer, operational, and financial workflows
- Support mobile app and device update infrastructure from a systems, deployment, and reliability perspective
- Establish IT standards, documentation, and best practices as the company scales
- Manage IT vendors, licenses, contracts, and external service providers
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of experience in IT, systems, infrastructure, or related technical roles
- Proven experience designing and owning IT and systems infrastructure in a growing organization
- Strong cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, Azure, or equivalent)
- Hands‑on experience implementing and managing CRM and ERP systems (such as Zendesk, Salesforce, Hub Spot, Net Suite, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics), including integration with cloud infrastructure and business workflows.
- Experience with security, access control, backups, and disaster recovery
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, and customer support teams
- Experience at a consumer hardware, robotics, IoT, or connected‑device company
- Experience supporting products through launch and early field deployment
- Familiarity with mobile application release infrastructure or OTA update systems
- Experience operating in regulated, safety‑conscious, or privacy‑sensitive environments
Prior experience as a first or early IT hire in a scaling company
