Overview
We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Safety Manager to lead and manage safety initiatives at Sunkist Growers. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and other federal, state, and local regulations. You’ll partner with senior leadership to promote a strong culture of safety, implement standardized safety policies, and drive continuous improvement in workplace health and safety practices.

Base pay range$86,000.00/yr - $/yr
Key Responsibilities- Ensure full compliance with OSHA, Cal-OSHA, and other relevant regulations across all business units.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety documentation and programs, including IIPP, Haz Com, LOTO, EAP, Workplace Violence Prevention, and more.
- Design and manage the company-wide safety training program; lead training on emergency preparedness, forklift safety, heat illness prevention, CPR/first aid, and other critical topics.
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with HR, third-party vendors, and workers’ comp carriers to manage claims and drive resolution.
- Conduct periodic facility safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and correct hazards.
- Monitor internal safety controls and align safety procedures with corporate goals and legal requirements.
- Serve as the corporate safety liaison, ensuring consistency and accountability across business units.
- Maintain and report safety metrics, trends, and incident data to leadership.
- Oversee hazardous and toxic waste management programs and environmental compliance documentation.
- Lead and coordinate third-party audits related to workers' compensation, liability, and fleet safety.
- Mentor and guide safety committees or safety liaisons at local sites.
- 5–10 years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Environmental Health, or related field.
- Certification in safety (e.g., BCSP, OSHA training) preferred.
- Deep knowledge of OSHA/Cal-OSHA regulations, waste management, and environmental health.
- Valid driver’s license required; ability to travel 20–40% using a company-provided vehicle.
- Strong experience with safety audits, risk mitigation, incident investigation, and safety program implementation.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and training skills with the ability to engage a multicultural workforce.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with safety tracking/reporting systems is a plus.
