The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises, assets, team members, and visitors. Duties include patrolling, investigating suspicious behavior, enforcing company policies, and providing exceptional customer service while maintaining calm and professional conduct.

• Provide security to the business and its occupants, including team members, customers, and vendors.
• Patrol premises and remain visible, greeting and smiling at all times.
• Identify and respond to potential security risks, preventing losses and communicating with authorities as needed.
• Write incident reports recording observations, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
• Contact local authorities and maintain professional relationships with law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical personnel.
• Assist the Asset Protection team in preventing theft, controlling shrink, and executing shoplifting arrests.
• Enforce all company policies, procedures, and operating standards.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, federal, and BSIS regulations and keep licensing up to date.
• Respond to emergencies and assist team members and customers.
• Follow fire prevention and property damage procedures.
• Conduct firewatch patrols as necessary.
• Use company-provided cell phones to stay in contact with other security personnel and the Asset Protection Team.
• Remain vigilant during money transport.
• Inspect perimeter doors to ensure locks are secure at the end of the day.
• Report safety issues, concerns, and graffiti.

• Promote a positive, desirable, and safe atmosphere within stores, warehouses, offices, and properties.
• Adaptable to quick changes, multitask, and work well under pressure.
• Knowledge of the BSIS Power to Arrest training manual.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork.
• Excellent observation skills.

• High School Diploma and/or equivalent.
• Prior Security Guard experience (preferable).
• Customer Service experience.
• Basic understanding of Spanish and English (reading, writing, speaking).

• Light lifting of supplies and materials as needed.
• Prolonged standing.
• Travel between locations in the district and multi-store positions.
• Up to 6 to 8 hours of standing, walking, occasional climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and reasonable physical contact for arrests.

• Non-exempt level position with business‑necessity scheduling.
• Flexible schedule based on business needs.
• Opens to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
