The Manager, Sports is responsible for organizing and managing regional community sports programming within an assigned geographic area (Northern Los Angeles County). This role focuses on directing resources, coordinating events, supporting local programs, and building community partnerships to expand athlete participation, volunteer engagement, and inclusive sports opportunities.

Senior Manager, Sports
Compensation: $54,000–$67,000 (non-exempt, full-time, benefits eligible)
Key Responsibilities Sports Management (45%)- Coordinate and execute regional sports events and competitions.
- Manage facility contracts, vendors, officials, insurance, equipment, and logistics.
- Recruit and manage volunteers, coaches, and participants.
- Oversee athlete registration, scheduling, and competition standards.
- Maintain sports equipment, uniforms, and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with reporting deadlines and program requirements.
- Supervise volunteers and interns.
- Support team collaboration, meetings, and special projects.
- Participate in committees, planning sessions, and events as needed.
- Build relationships with schools, athletic departments, community organizations, and facility partners.
- Support coach education and training programs.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and community partners.
- Help plan community engagement events and participant recruitment initiatives.
- Engage local organizations, parks & recreation departments, and community groups.
- Support recruitment of athletes, volunteers, and community partners.
- Promote participation in health, leadership, and fundraising initiatives.
- Support execution of annual work plans and strategic initiatives.
- Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and program reporting.
- Submit timecards, expense reports, and invoices.
- Maintain program assets, equipment, and storage spaces.
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Recreation, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of experience in sports programming, recreation, or sport administration.
- Experience managing volunteers or staff.
- Experience working with diverse communities; inclusive programming experience preferred.
