Warehouse Receiving Clerk
Job Summary
The Warehouse Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming shipments to ensure inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. This role plays a critical part in maintaining organized warehouse operations and supporting timely distribution of goods.
Key Responsibilities
* Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage
* Verify shipment contents against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices
* Accurately enter received goods into inventory management or ERP systems
* Label, tag, and properly store materials in designated warehouse locations
* Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely
* Coordinate with purchasing, shipping, and inventory teams regarding discrepancies
* Report damaged or missing items to supervisors and vendors as needed
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area
* Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits
* Follow company safety procedures and warehouse protocols
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required
* 1-2 years of warehouse receiving or inventory experience preferred
* Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification)
* Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory software systems
* Ability to read purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documents
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions
* Fast-paced warehouse environment
* Frequent standing, lifting, bending, and operating warehouse equipment
* Exposure to varying temperatures depending on warehouse setup
