Department OverviewThe Division of Undergraduate Education supports students with a living-learning community and programs that promote access and success. The Educational Partnership Center (EPC) provides school-centered and student-centered activities across the Monterey Bay and Silicon Valley regions. The GEAR UP project serves under-represented, low-income students with the goal of increasing postsecondary participation.
Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the GEAR UP Assistant Director, the GEAR UP Family Involvement Coordinator (FIC) will provide direct services to middle and high school students in Pajaro Valley / North Monterey County or South Monterey County. The FIC develops and implements academic preparation programming, builds relationships with schools, districts, colleges, and community partners, and supports families to promote college readiness.
APPOINTMENTINFORMATION & Benefits
Budgeted Salary: $61,500 - $73,370 annually. Salary commensurate with skills and experience. Full benefits. The posted salary is a reasonable estimate and may not exceed the posted amount.
Schedule: Full-time, 100% (40 hours/week). Mon-Fri;
Day shift. Hybrid work schedule available with in-person requirements as needed.

55% - Outreach
- Delivers college-going workshops to parents and families at community and school events.
- Plans and implements college-going field trips and activities.
- Recruitment for events; develops student academic plans to ensure postsecondary eligibility.
- Designs and implements grade-appropriate college-going workshops, curricula, and materials.
- Maintains relationships with parents to support student success and access to higher education.
- Advocates for students and parents; provides support for high school completion and enrollment in higher education.
20% - Administrative and Data Tracking
- Produces program reports, collects student data, documents contacts, and tracks academic progress.
- Prepares forms for expenditures and in-kind support; handles related documentation.
- Completes other tasks necessary for program progress.
15% - Collaboration
- Maintains collaborative relationships with other college-going programs and higher education personnel.
- Holds regular meetings with school personnel to promote collaboration.
- Participates in committees and strategic planning.
10% - Supervision
- Hires, trains, and supervises part-time student and summer staff.
